Answers to the questions clients ask most often
Our system has no API. Can anything be done?
Usually yes. Depending on the situation there is a read-only database view, a scheduled export, file exchange, or an integration layer over the database. I always pick the route that does not reach into your system.
Will users see data they are not entitled to?
No. Permissions come from the source system and are evaluated on every query, not once at indexing time. Revoke someone's access and it takes effect immediately.
Will this slow down our ERP?
I design the integration so it does not load the production system: reads over a replica or cache, batch processing outside peak hours, and rate limits. We go through the expected load with your IT beforehand.
Who maintains it after go-live?
Either your team, which I document and train, or me under a retainer for operation and development. Both are legitimate; it just has to be decided up front rather than when something breaks.
How long does an integration take?
Connecting to a single system with a working API is usually a matter of weeks. More complex environments without an API, or with strict security rules, take longer; you get an estimate after analysis.
Do you work with our IT department?
Yes, and it is necessary. I work with your IT on access, network rules, deployment and monitoring, and I supply whatever your security review requires from a supplier.
What is an MCP server and why do you mention it?
Model Context Protocol is a standard for connecting AI models to external systems. Instead of a one-off integration for a single tool, I build an MCP server that exposes your data and operations to any AI client. When you swap the model or add another assistant later, the integration is not rewritten.
Data sitting in systems that don't talk to each other?
Tell me which systems you run and what the AI should do. On a free intro call I will say whether the integration is realistic and what it would take. Online or in person in Prague and South Bohemia.
